Your Football Boot Galleries

Here at we bloody love football boots!

Whether it’s those speedy bad boys, control cleats, power or comfy heritage boots: we’re all over them.

And so, it appears, are our loyal fans.

Check out this amazing collection sent in from one SportLocker football boot fanatic, Mark Christodoulou: (he’s clearly a fan of Nike’s Mercurial Vapor range)

First up, is the iconic Nike Mercurial Air Vapor that Ronaldo wore in the 1998 World Cup.

Mark comments: “Ronaldo is my idol and the reason I play football, the reason I play as a striker and also the reason I only wear number 9 on the pitch!

“These boots are my prized possession! 1998 was the year Ronaldo wowed me with the amazing goals he scored, the way he moved the ball and the outrageous skill he possessed”

Next in the impressive collection are these yellow/green R9 Nike Mercurial Vapor III that Ronaldo wore in the 2006 World Cup, where he became the competition’s highest goalscorer with his fifteenth goal, exceeding Gerd Müller’s previous record of 14.

“I bought these iconic boots because I wanted to be a part of the Ronaldo history,” commented Mark.

Next were the Nike Mercurial Vapor SLs – the first pair that Mark bought for his collection!

They are made of complete carbon fibre, and only 2008 were released worldwide (550 in the UK).

Out of the 2008 pairs, 500 were released in soft ground and 1508 were released in firm ground – and Mark managed to get his hands on a pair of both!

Each pair has the number of the boot on the tongue – you can clearly see that his number is 1046.

Then came the Euros in 2008, so Christodoulou obviously felt the need to update his Vapor collection with these Nike Mercurial Vapor IV EC08.

The limited edition boots for the tournament are a great colourway and also feature an emblem on the heel of each boot.

These are followed by the Nike Mercurial Vapor IV pink/berry bad boys!

Christodoulou said: “I actually own two pairs of these. Obviously, wearing these boots in matches mean they get scuffed, so as they are limited editions I bought a second pair for my collection!”

And finally, here are the limited edition WEAR IT PROUD Nike Mecurial Vapor SuperFly boots, released in 2009 to celebrate the new purple England Rugby team kit.

Only 70 pairs were made with 40 given to the England rugby team and 30 pairs released to general public – so Christodoulou did amazingly to get his hands on a pair. Well played sir!
