Brian Deane scored the first, Chris Sutton / Andy Townsend bagged the 5,000th (they’re still both claiming it), Sir Les notched the 10,000th and Fulham’s Moritz Volz netted the 15,000th.
And after last night, Marc Albrighton will go down in football folklore by scoring the 20,000th goal of the Premier League.
The Villa winger, wearing Nike CTR 360 Maestri II’s, slipped the ball past Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesney in the 54th minute to score the landmark goal.
And he was clearly buzzing after the match:
“It was great to score the 20,000th goal last night. Starting my career a couple of years ago, I would never have thought I would be the one to net such a landmark goal.
“I remember when Les Ferdinand scored the 10,000th and to score the 20,000th, in front of our own fans is something I will remember and be reminded of for the rest of my life.”
So who’s going to score the 25,000th goal then?! Let us know in the comments section below or on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
