Michael Dawson signs for Under Armour

Sport-locker.net can today reveal that Tottenham Hotspur and (occasional) England centre half Michael Dawson has signed a long term deal with Under Armour.

The experienced defender will wear the American brand’s performance enhancing Hydrastrike II football boots on the pitch – leaving his Umbro Specialis behind him!

Speaking about the partnership, the Spurs skipper, who helped the club qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the Club’s history in 2010, said: “I am extremely excited to join the Under Armour family – they are an ambitious brand who are committed to helping athletes constantly improve.

“Under Armour apparel and footwear is developed with the athlete’s needs in mind and I am looking forward to being part of building that sporting legacy.”

Dawson joins Fulham’s Bobby Zamora and former team-mate Paul Robinson in the Under Armour family – and will also soon be wearing Under Armour on a regular basis when the brand supplies Tottenham’s kit next season.

The UA Hydrastrike II FG combines Under Armour’s innovative proprietary performance materials including Micro G foam for a revolutionary fit and maximum responsiveness, 4D Foam cushioning to distribute cleat pressure and UA CoreSpeed Plate to enhance the foot’s natural ability to accelerate in any direction.

We’re hoping to get our hands on the new boots to try out so stay tuned to the website in the coming weeks!
