With the football season now well and truly up and running, it was only a matter of time before the brands started to release new boot colourways.
Today, it’s adidas’ turn to step up to the mark – and Sport-locker.net has exclusive imagery and info to show off!
To coincide with the new Champions League season starting next week, the three-striped brand has launched a new adiPower Predator colourway which includes the styling of this season’s official Champions League ball.
The design takes inspiration from the colour scheme laid out for this year’s competition with Purple and White being the focus colours.
The variation of colours ranges from red through to green, purple and yellow featured subtly into the heel of the boot and is combined with a traditional dark border.
This eye catching colour scheme has already been seen throughout the adidas range including in the new Champions League Finale 11 Official match ball (which we brought you news of on Sport-locker.net) and in Petr Cech’s very own signature gloves.
In line with adidas’ continued advancements in boot technology the adiPower predator continues to include all adidas boot technologies and is a dynamic combination of lightweight design, and elements to maximise power and control.
The adipower Predator® features “The Predator element” which has been re-engineered to maximise ball control abilities.
The Predator® element featured on the medial side of the boot is an injected silicon-rubber component welded onto the base material. The silicon rubber increases spin when striking the ball to ensure perfect ball control in all weather conditions.
The further enhancement of the Predator® element makes the adipower Predator® the most accurate Predator® ever produced.
The boot also integrates the revolutionary Sprint Frame outsole construction featured in the adizero F50 range. This innovation reduces the weight of the boot (versus previous Predator boot) by 25% to 230g.
The addition of the Sprint Frame also helps create stability through geometry, whilst reducing the number of material layers.
As with past Predator® editions, the new adipower Predator® features Powerspine technology which minimises the energy loss during a shot through a reduction of the “kicking flex” in the forefoot area.
The grooves of the Powerspine also provide a comfortable running movement by keeping the element highly flexible in the right direction.
Fans can look forward to seeing these boots worn by some of Europe’s best players including Aaron Ramsey, Robin Van Perise and Nani from the beginning of the Champions’ League group stages on the 14th September and can get their hands on their very own pair from adidas own retail outlets as well as specialist stores in the UK, when the boots go on sale on the 1st October, RRP £155.
