The sun was nice while it lasted but we all know that winter is very much around the corner – shudder!
This means that you’ll soon be turning up to football matches early doors on a Saturday or Sunday morning frozen to the bone.
But do not fear as Sport-locker.net can bring you some news of a bit of clobber that will keep you warm during these soon to be harsh sub-zero times.
Because the new Nike Hyperwarm Shield range is here right on cue!
The tagline for the new range is: “DRY WHERE YOU NEED IT WARM WHERE IT COUNTS.” Sounds good to us!
In terms of the baselayer top, this translates to meaning that it maximizes breathability and warmth during harsh winter weather.
Dryness
The Nike Shield water-repelling technology covers the sleeves. The polyester and jersey fabric has a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) finish, designed for winter weather conditions – and it looks pretty effective in the video!
Warmth
The thermal Dri-FIT jersey fabric with a brushed inner-surface helps pull sweat away to help keep athletes comfortable, dry and warm to the core. Because the fit is body-skimming, this also allows for a thin layer of air to be trapped next to the skin for warmth as well – so they’ll be no need for snoods!
Comfort
What’s more, the flat-seam construction helps reduce irritation caused by chafing for added comfort. The side, sleeve, and upper-back inset zones feature Fri-FIT mesh fabric for ventilation and comfort, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be warm and comfortable in the frosty conditions.
As for the shorts, they also include much of the same technology.
The ergonomic, abrasion-resistant film panels help reduce friction burns on the thighs, whilst the slightly thicker, shock-absorbing panels soften impact for those 50-50 tackles.
And you won’t need to worry about your outer short getting in the way; the anti-friction panels on the inner thigh alleviate any potential issues there.
Hopefully, Sport-locker.net will get our hands on some of the Hyperwarm Shield range to put them through their paces, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, what do you think of the range? Are you a fan of baselayers in general? Where do you stand on gloves and snoods? Let us know in the comments section below or on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
