Casual shoe release: Umbro Milton

Here at we obviously love our football. 

But we also love our clobber – so mix the two together and we’re onto a winner! 

Because Umbro have released a casual shoe which takes inspiration from their famous Speciali football boots – with the designers keen to replicate an authentic football piece for today’s trainer fans. 

Behold the Umbro Milton shoe… 

Umbro has applied its rich heritage in sportswear design to create a modern new men’s lifestyle footwear range for Autumn Winter 2011. 

Inspired by Umbro’s authentic football roots and informed by key design features of authentic football boots, each shoe in the range representsUmbro’s insightful crafting and eye for detail, but with a lifestyle look and modern twist. 

The new collection siats within 1350, the brand’s new sportswear concept that was launched earlier this year. 

Inspired by the 90 minutes on the pitch and perfectly tailored for the 1350 minutes left in the day off it, wherever you are, whatever you are doing, it’s always about the culture surrounding football.

Designed in an array of colours the Milton shoe style makes up the Autumn/Winter collection. A stylish and understated heavy pump, the Milton has been produced in three fabrics – soft canvas, supple leather and classic suede, each designed to wear on or off the football terrace.

The Milton leather is a central piece in the collection, available in full grain leather, with a micro perforation, canvas lining and a support in sock for added comfort. Key to the range is the tan torn leather option. Vintage in look and feel, this style provides a smart and luxurious addition to the sportswear footwear market. 

Built for the casual trainer wearer, the canvas Milton is inspired by South American football with bright colours, soft and breathable fabric and a classic look. 

The suede version of the Milton takes its reference from indoor football, with the fabric used being comfortable and responsive as well as looking fresh, smart and stylish.
Each shoe in the range has the classic Umbro double diamond logo embossed directly into the tongue. The discreet branding is also detailed in the diamond eyelets for the lacing, meaning that the design of the shoe rather than the branding makes the most impact. 

The shoe also contains design touches taken from the Speciali‘s revolutionary insole built for comfort with a thicker than the average casual shoe, lacing that hugs the foot and a short tongue to aid movement. 

The Milton also features an interpretation of the A-frame design made famous by the Speciali boot to provide stability and extra comfort.
