Golf shoe release: the VIVOBAREFOOT Hybrid Barefoot

We’re always receiving weird and wonderful products in our inbox every week, but we reckon these bad boys top them all!

Sport-locker.net bring you something a bit different this afternoon – take a look at the new VIVOBAREFOOT Hybrid – the optimum golf shoe!

Never have we seen such a fascinating looking shoe, and there’s some amazing tech info behind them as well.

Its ultra-thin, puncture-resistant sole offers maximum proprioception – the ability for the body to sense the forces acting on it (to me and you) – with protection for better balance on the course, and the terrain specific grip eliminates the need for spikes.

70% of your brain’s information for movement comes from the nerves on the soles of your feet. The more you can feel the ground, the greater your body’s understanding of its surroundings and natural movement.

The Hybrid is constructed on the Off Road outsole: an ultra-thin, puncture-resistant chrome leather sole made with 20% recycled rubber, which offers maximum grip from multi-directional lugs while still providing as much proprioceptive feedback as possible for enhanced balance and injury-free movement.

This barefoot golf shoe features a bellowed tongue construction for 360 degree water-resistant breathability and seamless barefoot comfort. Vegetable tanned leather and rip-stop nylon trimmings provide increased durability on the upper.

The Hex Mesh inner structure is made from Dri-Lex performance lining with environmentally sustainable DuPont Sorona yarn. This unique feature adds additional ventilation and lightness to provide the ultimate barefoot experience. In fact the Hybrid golf shoe for men weighs only 295g (10.4oz) and 193g (6.8oz) for women.

Whether you choose to leave your golf clubs at home or take your swing from bogey to hole-in-one, the Hybrid is perfect for all golfing, hiking and many other outdoor pursuits.

Asher Clark, Design Director at VIVOBAREFOOT, comments: “Our customers know to expect the unexpected from VIVOBAREFOOT, and the Hybrid golf shoe is no exception.

“The ultra-thin sole and tooth-like hex grip set up are designed to give you maximum proprioceptive feedback for improved balance and natural movement that will leave you wondering why all golf shoes aren’t designed this way.”

And ladies, do not fear, there are also a host of colourways for you to enjoy on the golf course as well.

The new Hybrid shoe will set you back £100 and is available from www.vivobarefoot.com/uk or in store at The VIVOBAREFOOT Experience, 64 Neal Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9PQ as well as in Spitalfields and Brighton.

Are you trying to tell me that these shoes – WITHOUT SPIKES – are going to keep me upright when I play winter golf in Cork Golf Club, Little Island, Co. Cork, Ireland, as I intend doing tomorrow morning, with a 50% chance of rain (on top of all the rain we had last week)? Pull the other one! GAF at Golfing Life

Hi GAF – we completely agree with what you say. It will be interesting to see how they cope in wet conditions. We’re hoping to get our hands on a pair to put through a playtest. So stay tuned to the site!

OK, so – I got a pair from their UK web site and I have to say these are really, really comfortable.
As far as water (weatherproof) goes… Well, I wore goretex socks, but to tell you the truth, playing this past Saturday in 40 degree wet wasn’t really that bad. I did have a tendency to slip more than normal playing out of the rough, but on the fairway, tee boxes and greens these were fine.
They’re still a bit stiff, the soles are hard as rocks, but the are way up there on the cool factor.
Look great with my Loudmouth black herringbone pants!

Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working
with? I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future
but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
