PUMA have unveiled its latest Fast Track collection, the Perf Pack. The nostalgic pack features two of the best selling silhouettes from PUMA’s rich history, the R698 and the States.
Originally designed as performance sneakers in their era – ‘80s for the States, ‘90s for R698 – these two famous PUMA styles quickly moved from the track and court to the streets.
The States, which debuted as Suede, quickly rose to fame with the ‘80s dawn of b-boys and hip-hop beats, which took over New York City. Often spotted in a much sought-after blue and white colour combo, the classic Suede was re-christened by people in the UK as the ‘States’ after its birthplace.
The R698 was born into a grand tradition of revolutionary ‘90s PUMA performance footwear. Trinomic technology used in the sole of the R698 changed the scene with its use of a hexagonal system. Being seen as the sneaker to wear, the R698 quickly became synonymous with street style.
The Perf Pack sees PUMA utilise rich materials across both styles with a soft and smooth nubuck. The main detail emphasises the perforated texture across both silhouettes, uniting these two styles.
The Perf Pack will land in three colourways; black and light grey, further highlighting the third colour, a deep and intense electric blue.
The PUMA Perf pack is due for release on March 13th at Size?, Footpatrol, End Clothing and Well Gosh
