Premier League Fantasy Football Boots 2011/12: Week 19

Another week of Premier League action and that means another week of goals, assists and Fantasy Football Boots brought to you exclusively by

As a little reminder for you…

Each week, will keep a running table of which boots are scoring the most goals and which are making the most assists as well as collating the two to reveal the Premier League’s most prolific and most creative football boot.

Three points will be rewarded for each goal scored while there is one on offer for every assist.

This gameweek saw another twist in the race for third place in the Fantasy Football League Table which is fast becoming the most talked about head to head since Joey Barton met Bradley Johnson.

Nike’s CTR360 II Maestri bumped Nike’s Mercurial Vapor Superfly to reclaim the bronze medal spot and the (temporary) bragging rights with five goals (Stephen Ward, Ramires, James Milner, Craig Gardner and Yohan Cabaye) to the Vapor‘s one scored by Hugo Rodallega.

Boot of the Gameweek prize goes to the table topping adidas F50 adiZero which is showing no signs of festive fixture pile up fatigue, notching up nine goals and eight assists  making for a 35 point haul.

Goals came courtesy of some usual suspects in Demba Ba, Jermain Defoe, Anthony Pilkington and Stephane Sessegnon as well as some not so usual suspects in Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge,  David Goodwillie, James McClean and David Ngog.

Goal of the weekend was a fierce contest with new year belters from Ba (F50), Cabaye (Maestri) and Vaughan (adiPURE) but the award goes to Sunderland’s Craig Gardner (Maestri) who tamed the wild winds of Wigan to drill home a spectacular 25 yard free kick.

Wildcard of the Gameweek is an absolute no brainer with Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard getting on the scoresheet with an audacious (if slightly wind assisted) 80 yard strike.

The American, achieved the feat to join fellow goalscoring Premier League ‘keepers Brad Friedel and Paul Robinson wearing a pair of Nike Tiempo Legends.
