Ian Poulter meets Feng Shui expert ahead of HSBC Champions defence

You’ve heard of golfers being in the zone but defending HSBC Champion Ian Poulter took it to new extremes when he met up with a Feng Shui expert as part of his preparation for the Shanghai showdown.

The Ryder Cup hero – who freely admits to numerous superstitions – took time out to meet local guru Frank Poon for a few tips before teeing off at Sheshan International Golf Club (October 31 – November 3).

In the video Mr Poon conducts a personal analysis on Poulter and tells him:

* Blue and red are your lucky colours and will bring power and inner peace – before Poulter reveals his Union Jack socks

* He should sleep with his head facing East or West but never North or South – Poulter says he’ll be checking hotel beds every week from now on

* 9 and 0 are his lucky numbers

Poulter also shares his own superstitions in the video which was commissioned by tournament sponsor HSBC.

He reveals he doesn’t use No 3 golf balls, only ever carries three tee pegs and never marks a ball with tails.
