Sport-locker.net can today reveal that Carlsberg will unveil its latest “If Carlsberg Did…” TV advert during this today’s season curtain opener between FA Cup winners Arsenal and Premier League champions Chelsea.
Starring Jeff Stelling and Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel, the new TV advert from the brand transforms a simple five-a-side kickabout into probably the best kickabout in the world.
Alongside Jeff commentating from the sidelines, the advert sees Peter Schmeichel walk past to save a wayward ball and an injured player make a miraculous recovery becoming a younger and fitter version of themselves after the touch of the Carlsberg ‘magic sponge’.
Set to hit UK TV screens during the half-time commercial break of this weekend’s Community Shield on Sunday (2nd August) the advert also subtly features moments from Barclays Premier League history, including retro club shirts, Eric Cantona’s turned-up collar, Petr Cech’s head guard and Wayne Rooney’s scissor-kick goal.
Filmed in Croydon, the latest advert is the third TV instalment from the brand celebrating the “If Carlsberg Did…” campaign, following two previous executions earlier this year including “If Carlsberg Did Haircuts” and “If Carlsberg Did Supermarkets.”
