adidas have unveiled the boots that will carry the All Blacks through the 2015 season – the exclusive Blackout boot range – adding momentum to the ‘Force of Black’ they are set to unleash, Sport-locker.net can reveal!
Rugby players can also unleash their force on-field, with the new Blackout boot range available for pre-sale now. There are four models in the range, each engineered to meet individual players’ needs, delivering optimum performance for every position on the field.
Developed exclusively for the All Blacks to wear during Rugby World Cup 2015, in collaboration with senior players and New Zealand Rugby (NZR), the Blackout boots mean the entire team will be head-to-toe in black throughout the tournament.
Simon Cartwright, Senior Director – adidas Rugby, says: “We believe, as an evolution of ‘the blackest ever’ All Blacks jersey launched in November, Blackout boots make a strong and powerful statement, just like the All Blacks do every time they hit the field.”
“Producing ‘the blackest ever’ kit was born from the insight that facing the colour black is an intimidating experience, which we believe ultimately gives the All Blacks a competitive edge.
We’re excited to see the team kitted out head-to-toe in black; they’ll literally personify the ‘Force of Black’.”
With the same industry-leading technology as the adidas Electric boot range, each Blackout boot has been designed, in collaboration with senior All Blacks, around the specific needs of their position, whether it’s controlling kicks, dominating the scrum, stepping through the opposition’s backline, or clearing the ruck – each element of the game has been considered.
All Blacks Captain Richie McCaw says the research and development taken to create each of the four silos is quite an interesting process to be involved in. “After being part of the development process, you have more confidence knowing what you wear is going to help you perform on field.”
The All Blacks will “break in” their new Blackout boots in training before wearing them on- field for the second Bledisloe Cup test on 15 August. The range is set to hit shelves from 8 August.
The Blackout boot range is made up of the CrazyQuick Malice, Predator Incurza, FF80 Pro and the adipower Kakari. The range is priced from £100-£165, and will be stocked at adidas stores and major sporting goods retailers, rugby retailers worldwide and online at www.adidasrugby.com #ForceOfBlack, @adidasUK
