Premier League Fantasy Football Boots 2011/12: Week 3

Saturday evening and after a relatively goal barren afternoon there was preparing itself for a quiet weekend in the world of Premier League Fantasy Football Boots.

But, like Mr Usain Bolt, turns out we too naively jumped the gun because along came Sunday and a generous goal feast with all the trimmings, enough for seconds and tomorrow’s sandwiches!

Six at White Hart Lane, followed by a terrific ten at Old Trafford with the two Manchester sides gorging greedily and hungry for more while North London’s finest appear to have lost their appetite.

Anyway enough of all that. It’s time to hand over to big news of the weekend. Which football boots performed best?

As a little reminder for you…

Each week, will keep a running table of which boots are scoring the most goals and which are making the most assists as well as collating the two to reveal the Premier League’s most prolific and most creative football boot.

Three points will be rewarded for each goal scored while there is one on offer for every assist.

Thanks largely to Wayne Rooney, his brilliant hat-trick and assist, Nike’s T90 Laser surged up the table while adidas duo, Predator and adiZero also cashed in courtesy of Anderson (assist), Nani (goal) and Ashley Young (two goals and three assists) and a consolation strike from Robin Van Persie.

There was good news from the capital on Sunday too for adidas with Edin Dzeko’s red hot adiPURE‘s racking up four goals while new boy Samir Nasri picked up three assists.

New this week, in at number 12 on the table is the Pantofola d’Oro Lazzarini with all its style and elegance. Stoke City’s Jon Walters was the wearer and brought home a point with an assist for Ryan Shotton (Nike CTR 360 Maestri II)

There was a good showing from across the Umbro range with a goal apiece for Umbro’s Geometra (Jordan Henderson) (recently play tested by and Stealth II (Grant Holt) while Carl Jenkinson found time to squeeze in an assist amid all the goal conceding and getting sent off in a pair of white Speciali Elites.

For the second week in succession Ryan Giggs stepped off the substitutes’ bench at Old Trafford to record an assist wearing a pair of green Reebok Instante II Pro while team mate and fellow substitute Park Ji-Sung (Nike Tiempo Elite) went one better with a goal.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Nike’s Mercurial Vapor has a new goalscoring representative in Chelsea’s Juan Mata, while Charlie Adam (One goal, one assist), Dirk Kuyt (two assists) and Franco Di Santo (two goals) came up trumps for Predator.

Serial boot changer, Mikel Arteta (once of adidas F50 adiZero) may be tempted to stick with his Puma V1.11s after scoring Everton’s winner from the spot against Blackburn. Sergio Aguero also found the net in a pair of Puma’s latest release.

Find out how all the other boots are faring with the Fantasy Football Boots League Table. **
